
I’m an outsider. I don’t come from a traditional arts background.
I’m lucky that my upbringing was filled with museums and theater and music, in a home where every wall was covered in art. My parents treated it as essential and that’s stuck.
In college, I minored in Art History, studied art and music in Vienna, worked summers at museums and arts nonprofits. But I never felt like I belonged in The Art World™. Gallery owners were too sophisticated. Curators were too intellectual. Artists were fearless in a way I never felt. So instead I pursued a more traditional corporate career, with my love for art always in the background.
Years later, it continues to confound me the ways in which The Art World™ works to deliberately keep people out. And so, I have no credentials and no pedigree to share. Just a passion, an eye, and four things I believe pretty deeply:
